Terms of Service

These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and us for using our AI resume and cover-letter builder ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. What the Service is

The Service helps you write your own resume and cover letters. You maintain a career profile, paste in a job posting, and the Service uses AI to generate tailored documents you can edit, export, and share.

The Service is a writing tool for job seekers. It does not screen, rank, score, or evaluate candidates for employers, and it makes no hiring decisions.

2. Your account

You need an account (via our sign-in provider, Clerk) to use the Service. Keep your login secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement.

3. Your content

You own the content you provide (your profile, work history, job postings you paste) and the resumes and letters generated for you. You give us permission to store and process that content solely to operate the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for what you submit. Don't submit content you have no right to use, and only add references with their knowledge and consent — their contact details are stored to render your resume and are never sent to the AI.

If you use a resume's share link, anyone with that link can view it. Delete the resume to disable the link.

4. Credits

The Service runs on prepaid credits:

• You buy credit packs through Stripe. Each AI action (generating a resume, importing a resume, requesting an edit) costs a fixed number of credits, shown to you before you spend them. Current pack and action prices are always displayed on your billing page.
• Credits are closed-loop: they can only be spent on actions inside the Service. They have no cash value and cannot be cashed out or transferred to anyone else.
• Purchased credits do not expire.
• If a paid AI action fails, the credits it charged are automatically returned to your balance.
• Refunds of money (as opposed to credits) are covered by our Refund Policy.

We may change credit prices for future purchases and actions; changes never affect credits you already hold.

5. AI-generated output

Resumes and cover letters are generated by AI and are labeled as such.

• Output may contain errors. Review, verify, and edit everything before you use it. You are responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of any resume you send to an employer.
• No outcome guarantee. We make no promise that using the Service will result in any interview, job offer, or employment outcome.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to create false or fraudulent credentials, to impersonate someone else, to violate anyone's rights, or to attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the Service, dispute charges in bad faith, or violate these terms; if we do, we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. This erases your content as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account forfeits any remaining credit balance, except where a refund is owed under the Refund Policy or required by law.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice and address unused purchased credits fairly.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost job opportunities or lost profits). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, and nothing limits your statutory consumer rights.

10. Disputes

Before going to court, contact us at support@taostensor.llc — most issues can be resolved directly. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in court, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to your local courts.

11. Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we'll notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
