This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data our resume builder collects, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address and name are held by Clerk, our sign-in provider. Our own database identifies you only by your Clerk account ID.
Your career profile. Everything you enter to build resumes: your name, location, phone, email, website and LinkedIn links, an optional photo, your skills, work history, and any custom sections you create.
References. If you add references, we store their name, contact details, company, and any testimonial or context you provide. Their contact details are used only to display and render your resume — they are never sent to the AI model.
Job postings and generated documents. The job posting text you paste, your in-progress drafts, the resumes and cover letters the AI generates, and any edit instructions you give.
Uploaded resumes (imports). If you import an existing resume, we store the PDF temporarily while we extract your work history from it. The PDF is deleted once the import finishes.
Billing records. Your credit balance and a permanent ledger of every credit purchase, spend, and correction. We also record usage metadata for each AI action (which model ran, token counts, cost) — this metadata never includes your resume or job text.
Payment details. Handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers never touch our servers.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers. We use only strictly necessary cookies: your sign-in session and security (CSRF) protection.
How the AI processes your data
When you generate or edit a resume, your profile content and the pasted job posting are sent to an AI provider to produce the text:
- Anthropic (default): inputs and outputs are deleted within 30 days and are not used to train models.
- OpenRouter: every request is sent with data collection disabled, so prompts are not retained or logged.
Your reference contacts' details are excluded from AI processing by design. We also keep resume and job text out of our error-monitoring logs.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers ("subprocessors"), each under a data processing agreement:

Where data leaves your region, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses (and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
How long we keep things
- Your content (profile, resumes, drafts, references, photos) is kept until you delete it or delete your account.
- Uploaded import PDFs are deleted when the import completes.
- Billing records (the credit ledger and AI-usage metadata) are retained after account deletion, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically up to 7 years). These records contain no resume content.
Sharing links
Each generated resume has a share link (/r/...) containing a long random ID. Anyone
with the link can view that resume. Deleting the resume disables the link.
Your rights
- Export your data. From your profile page you can download a single file containing everything we hold about your account.
- Delete your account. From your profile page. This permanently erases your profile details, work history, references, resumes, drafts, and photos, and deletes your Clerk account (removing your email and name from our systems). Only the legally required billing records described above are retained.
- Delete individual items. You can delete single resumes or drafts at any time without deleting your account.
- Ask us anything about your data at support@taostensor.llc. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to correction, restriction, objection, and to complain to a data protection authority.
AI-generated content
Resumes and cover letters are generated with AI and are labeled as such. Review everything before you use it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
